Zamfir - the man, the myth, the legend
Quite possibly the most brilliant man ever, Gheorghe Zamfir was born in Romania April 6, 1941. He is a famous musician who is a virtuoso on the pan pipes. Initially self-taught, he came to the public eye when he was 'discovered' by Swiss ethnomusicologist Marcel Cellier who extensively researched Romanian folk music in the 1960s.
Largely through the numerous television commercials for his albums, he introduced the panflute to a modern audience and revived it from obscurity. He has made many albums of panflute music
Jen has all of Zamfir's albums and celebrates his entire catalog. When asked which song was her favorite, she replied "I guess I like them all."
